Man shot by IAF Security for breaching security perimeter

A man was injured at Hindon AFB after being shot by IAF security as he attempted to scale the wall of the AFB.

As per latest reports, after the incident, the air force personnel quizzed the man, identified as 25-year-old Sujeet who hails from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh.

Sujeet tried to climb the wall and enter the Indian Airforce Base around 11 pm on Tuesday, and was shot at for breaching the perimeter wall, officials reported.

SHO of Sahibabad police station Rakesh Kumar Singh said that since Sujeet ignored the warnings, he was shot in the left leg so as to “immobilise him”, PTI reported.

An anonymous official mentioned there was an IB alert regarding a possible terrorist attack on the facility.

Sources said it is being ascertained whether the man has links with terrorist outfits.
The security has been beefed up at the airbase.
